Carbon accounting allows a business to measure its greenhouse gas emissions, providing a baseline against which goals can be set for emissions reductions. Our team provides technical support to the ongoing development and implementation of the Australian Wine Carbon Calculator. Through this tool, and additional carbon accounting platforms, we help grape and wine producers estimate their direct greenhouse gas emissions (scope 1 and scope 2) to identify emissions hotspots within their businesses. By gathering and interpreting this data, we can advise on business changes to improve efficiencies and yield better environmental and economic outcomes. Through more advanced accounting, we can also measure businesses’ indirect emissions and support greater understanding of the environmental impact of the activities of other businesses or facilities.
